U4GM What to Upgrade First in ARC Raiders

Upgrade ARC Raiders stations smartly: rush Gunsmith, save rare crafting mats, and level the Refiner early so better weapons, armour, and key recipes unlock faster.

In ARC Raiders, station upgrades aren't some side project you can leave for later. They're tied to almost every bit of real progress you make. Once you start chasing stronger weapons, better shields, and the kind of gear that actually holds up in rough raids, the Workshop becomes your home base. Some players even check markets like U4GM when they're looking to save time on resources and game items, but no matter how you play it, you'll notice pretty quickly that upgrading the right station at the right time matters more than spreading materials around at random.

    Stop dumping useful loot

A lot of people make the same mistake early on. They sell off odd parts because they look cheap or easy to replace. Bad move. The game loves to ask for things you barely noticed before. The Gunsmith starts simple enough with Metal Parts, Rubber Parts, and Rusted Tools, then suddenly wants harder-to-find components that don't drop every run. The Gear Bench pulls from a different pile entirely, with plastics, fabric, cables, and cell-based tech becoming more important as recipes open up. It gets messy fast. If you're serious about pushing your stations, your stash has to work for you. Keep uncommon drops, even if you don't need them yet. Chances are, you will soon enough.

    Farm with a plan

Where you raid matters just as much as what you pick up. If I'm short on electrical parts or tech-heavy loot, I usually head for Spaceport because it tends to pay out better in those categories. For mechanical junk and industrial pieces, Dam Battlegrounds has been way more reliable in my runs. Other areas lean toward fabric, medical items, or specific ARC machine drops, so it's worth paying attention instead of blindly queueing the same map over and over. You don't need some perfect spreadsheet for this. Just track what you're always missing, then farm the zone that gives you the best shot at fixing that problem.

Best station order for steady progress

If you want a clean upgrade path, start with the Gunsmith. Better guns speed up every fight, and faster fights usually mean cleaner extractions. After that, it makes sense to invest in something that improves your economy or passive gains, then move into the Gear Bench. That bench is a bigger deal than some players think. Stronger shields and better augments can save a run that would otherwise go sideways. Once those basics are in place, bring up the Refiner as soon as you can. That's the point where your whole crafting loop feels less painful, because basic scrap starts turning into materials you were previously desperate for.

    Upgrade around your next goal

The smartest way to handle progression is to choose the item you actually want next, then build backward from there. Don't level every station evenly just because it looks tidy. If your next target is a weapon, feed the Gunsmith first. If survival is the issue, push the Gear Bench. As raids get longer, the Medical Lab and Utility Station start pulling more weight too. And if you're trying to skip some of the slower grind while staying focused on progression, plenty of players look into ARC Raiders Boosting as part of that plan, especially when they want to keep momentum without wasting nights on bad farming routes. That loop is what keeps the game moving: better stations, safer runs, better loot, then another upgrade.
